Here is my rendition of the Hasegawa Avenger in 1/72 scale.

I used the Aries detail set which is a lovely piece of work. I did need to do quite a lot of cutting to get it all to fit, but it was worth it.

The bomb bay is especially nice. I also detailed the rear compartment as the door was to be open, but of course now you cannot see it! But I know it is in there!

The engine is pretty good but lacks the exhaust collector ring which is visible when the access hatches are opened. Thanks to Jim Fox for sending me a couple of pics showing this part. This was afdded using rod and styrene tubing.

One problem common to lots of Hasegawa kits is the shallow wheel wells. I removed the kit mouldings and rebuilt them full depth using plastic card.

The canopy was replaced with a Falcon Clear Vacs item. The best in the business!

After priming with Halfords auto primer, I sprayed the white with Halfords Nissan White. This unfortunately comes in a spray can and I think I used a little to much as it hid some of the panel lines. You live and learn! The camouflage was Humbrol for the extra dark sea grey and Xtracolour dark slate grey.

The markings were a mix of items from my spares box. Some sources say that the panel behind the code letters should be blue. I have my doubts on this and feel that this area is a remnant of the original camouflage scheme, so I made it extra dark sea  grey.
