The Revell/Monogram 1/48 kit is a relatively old kit with raised panel lines and some fit problems but in the end, it becomes a nice and rewarding build. I managed to get hold of a Black Box resin cockpit, a great improvement over the original kit cockpit. I used Poly Scale paint and decals from Twobobs to complete the model.

The A-10 Thunderbolt II is an American single-seat, twin-engine, straight-wing jet aircraft developed by Fairchild-Republic for the United States Air Force to provide close air support (CAS) of ground forces by attacking tanks, armored vehicles, and other ground targets with a limited air interdiction capability. It is the first U.S. Air Force aircraft designed exclusively for close air support.

The A-10 has been flown exclusively by the United States Air Force and its Air Reserve Components, the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) and the Air National Guard (ANG). The USAF operated a total of 353 A-10 and OA-10 aircraft (196 in active duty, 106 in ANG, and 51 in AFRC, all variants) as of September 2007.

The A-10 is scheduled to stay in service with the USAF until 2028 and possibly later.
