In 1976, SIAI Marchetti decided to give a successor for the advanced training SF .260, maintaining the characteristics of simplicity and low cost.  Thus was born the S .211. The project was presented at the show in Paris Le Bourget in 1977.  The first production aircraft, flew in 1984, and replaced, in Singapore, the BAC Strikemaster and T33.  Four aircraft were purchased by Haiti.

The SIAI S211 is also used by the Philippines, where it was also used by the aerobatic team "Red Aces".  In the early 90's, it entered the competition SIAI S211A JPATS (Joint Primary Aircraft Training System) for a new trainer for USAF and U.S. Navy in cooperation with Grumman. In 1997 the production rights were transferred dell'S211 Aermacchi, which has developed the most powerful M 311.

My model reproduces the third prototype, which first flew in 1984 in Milano Malpensa airport, and then presenting the technical solutions adopted by the production aircraft.

The kit is a Cunarmodel, scale 1/72.  Is a good kit with very fine details.  The cockpit and the onboard computer, located in place of the second pilot ejection seat for the processing of flight data from the various sensors placed on the aircraft are homemade.

Scratchbuilt are also underwing pod

The decals are recovery.

The final model represents the last plane of the glorious and world  famous Italian factory SIAI Marchetti.

I hope you like it!

Greetings to all friends modelers from Italy!
