Turkish Victory Day

This Greek Army inventory Nieuport 27 captured in airworthy condition at Gaziemir (Paradiso) airfield by the end of Turkish War of Independence in 1922. Named Ganimet-4 (Booty-4) and used for training duties until 1927 in Turkish Air Force.

As no Nieuport 27 kit is available in 1/32 scale and Hobbycraft Nieuport 17 model is the only game, I had to convert the fuselage and wings as per scaled Nieuport 27 drawings and scratchbuilt tail surfaces. Tom’s Modelworks Nieuport detail set used for cockpit and other external details. Fine fishing line went for rigging.

Model painted with Humbrol Enamel color mixes according to Frech color references and I hope they are proximate to reality. All markings were masked and painted. Aircraft’s name on fuselage hand written using fine white marker pen in Arabic letters (New Nation adopted Latin alphabet in 1928).

Happy modelling
