With the exception of
the “Master” Spano gun set for this model, this was an OOB build. I used
MM’s paints for the camo scheme which included RAF Dark Green, Ocean Gray,
and Medium Sea Gray. I pre shaded the model with black paint, and I slightly
post shaded it using the Pro Modeler black wash. The decals included in this kit
were pretty good, and I was able to make them conform to the panel lines using
Micro Sol solution. I placed a few extra brass cables in the engine compartment,
the landing gear and inside the cockpit to add some detail. Revell did an
exceptional job with this kit with the exception of the lack of recessed panel
rivets. I added some of my own, but I tried not to over do it. Adding the brass
Master Spano barrels to the wings proved to be a challenge as they were somewhat
a bit oversized for this kit.

The kit represented in
this build is from the Royal Air Force Kai Tak, No. 80 Squadron,
Hong Kong
, 1951.
I enjoyed building this
kit and I really like the final product. I hope that you enjoy the photos
included. I do need to get a better digital camera to better capture the finer
details.
