This is my 146th Phantom
here on ARC. This time a Hasegawa 1/48 F-4EJ back dated to a USAF Thunderbirds
airframe. What is "unique" about this airframe is the back seater.
I asked the boss which
number airframe I should do, she said #8. Well #7 and 8 were normally used for
press orientation flights, VIP flights and the like.
So I modified the back
seat dude. Cut off the airmask, added a nose and a big hole for the mouth. Bent
the arms into the right position and added a paper barf bag.
Basically the guy in the
back is just beginning to yack.

The model itself is a F-4EJ. To make
it USAF (early) all I did was sand off the Japanese RWRs and added to early gun
vent. Puttied it shut as the Thunderbirds of course had no guns. Other minor
mods include sanding off the bottom detail which represent the pylon connections
as this plane is of course in "clean" configuration. Then filled in
the holes for the tanks.
The decals are from CAM, the USAF
"base" is a wooden wall coat hook from a craft store called Michaels
painted in suitable colours.
