1/32 Matchbox Spitfire Mk24

The kit was one of the original Matchbox Kits of circa 30+ years old.
Much modified in the cockpit using some scratch building and Eduard in the cockpit, Scale Aircraft Conversion Spitfire undercarriage (for Tamiya Mk IX), but reversing it to ensure the torque links were at the rear of the strut and completely rebuilding the undercarriage doors and retraction mechanisms. Fortunately I had the opportunity to crawl over a MK22 in Perth, Western Australia some years ago which was a great help in lifting the model to an acceptable level. The rockets came of a Hobbycraft Sea Fury.

The colour scheme was for B Flight, No 80 Squadron RAF while in Hong Kong 1951... using the original kit decals.

Hope you like.
