This was made pretty much straight from the box: a starter set with Revell paint. Though I'm an experienced modeller I quite like these sets supposedly for youngsters. I should just say that the Revell examples seem a little better than the Airfix ones: the paint pots are a bit bigger and they have more conveniently opening lids; also, Revell provide a double-ended brush (small/medium).

The kit itself is a few years old and not that great actually. The canopy windscreen has framing which is too thick, and the rear of the cockpit is too far back (ending with the rear edge of the hood).
Another small but annoying problem is that the wing underside is in three parts with a difficult to treat step between the centre section and both outer panels.
Otherwise, detailing and general looks are good enough. The decal sheet especially has lots of well-printed stencils - though the white bands as used on my model are really too thick and would be better
handpainted.
I brush-painted using the Revell paints, Tamiya varnish and watercolor washes and dry-brushing. The truck included in the photos is a Pegasus item (from a double wargaming box) which was a little simplified but good though with no transparencies or decals. The two figures are old Matchbox items.
