1/48 Eduard Focke Wulf FW 190/A8

This is Eduard's reasonably well detailed Focke Wulf Fw-190/A8 Weekend Edition (box no 8429) model has some fit problems especially on the engine cowling, with a little work and time it is not a big deal to overcome. To detail this model I choose Eduard's zoom set and made some scratcbuilt details.

First I detailed the exhaust doors from inside with some evergreen plastic (picture 3 and 5), then I detailed the engine cowling (picture 6-7).  It will be the shame to open the engine cowling and not detail the engine; that was the most challenging part (picture 8, 9, 10, 11, 12).

Finally I detailed the wing machine guns and landing gear hydraulics and start painting.  For camo, I chose Alfred Bindseil's FW-190 A8 in the spring of 1944 ( 6JG1 störmede spring 1944).

In the end that model was a little bit time consuming but enjoyable. This model won a silver medal in the Ankara Air Force Museum 6th plastic model contest (WW2 propeller powered military planes category in 48 scale/2012) and gold medal in Koç Museum Plastic Model Contest in 2014.  I Hope you like it...
