  Indonesia Independence Day

As the backbone fighter of Indonesian AF, modeling the Sukhoi Su-27/30 Flanker is still the favourite among modelers in Indonesia. And by using this Hasegawa kit, easily I can model the earliest variants, the Su-27SK which delivered in 2003.

Hasegawa kit is nice, has good details and fittings although it has in-accuracies on the rear part of the fuselage and shape of the radome. Unfortunately I got the newer kit which has no metal landing gears. Hasegawa substitutes the metal part with injected plastic.

I have no problem building this kit. No aftermarket added also. I add two rods in the nose wheel’s mud cover using stretched sprue.

It is painted using Gunze H308 as the lighter grey and Aircraft Color Acrylic “Neutral Grey 43” as the darker grey. Radome, electrical panel, etc is Gunze H305. Intake’s interior, leading edges, wheels and wheel bays are painted using AKAN 73023. Close enough in my eyes.. J

I used Scale Nutz decal, CJM decal and kit decal to mark my model as the Indonesian AF Su-27.

It was an enjoyable build aside from the in-accuracy of the kit itself.

Thanks for looking.
