Summer has gone in northern Germany, and it`s time to return to scale modelling. Today I present the 1/48 Minicraft Cessna 172 Skyhawk, Civil Air Patrol (CAP), which I bought 2014 in a little model shop in Ocala, Florida.

It is a  nicely detailed 1/48 scale kit of the modern civilian 4-seat aircraft. It includes 4 sprues of parts with removable engine cowling to display the engine, detailed interior and a sharp sheet of decals for two versions.

Minicraft has released this type earlier in other versions that, for example, can be seen at the wheelhouses.

After the original photos, I chose the version of CAP Alaska Wing, 2009 at the Joint Richardson/Elmendorf Airbase .

The build is very simple, I just added some details to the interior and the engine.

For the painting I used Acrylic colors from Revell Aqua Color. Figures are from Verlinden and Esci.

I recommend a glance on the IPMS/USA Website, where you'll find a very detailed review of this kit.

Enjoy the Photos!
