R.M.A.F MIG-29N (BLUE TAILED BANDIT)

This model depicts the Royal Malaysian MIG-29N from squadron 17 of the RMAF with the distinctive blue tailed markings hence earning it the nick name "blue tailed bandit" This scheme was use during the LIMA airshow in 2011 with its intention to celebrate the RMAF 53rd anniversary of service to the nation. The model kit used in this project was Tamiya's MIG-29 scale 1/72.

Resin parts from "NMA" & decals from "Decal-La" were applied to the model to enhance its accuracy in terms of design version and markings. Overall the model was intended to rusty and a bit weathered to create a sense of realism.

The base primer was used before air brushing the entire model kit base color with (C335 medium grey) Mr Color. Futhermore, the back tail was painted with (C65-Blue gloss), (C327-Gloss red) from Mr Color as well. The whole surface was then coated with clear spray for protection and metal gloss effect for the aircraft's main outlook. The fuselage and metal parts was painted with silver and gloss chrome together with gold color to enhance rust and brunt iron effect. The weapon payload was chosen by the client whom wanted a full armed mode for the models.

Overall it was a satisfying build for this version of the MIG-29N the beautiful markings with great design of the kit itself really made it into a well combined built altogether.
