A scratch-built Ma.K Hover Tank.

Taking inspiration for a wide variety of Internet sources I built this 40mm or 1/43rd scale model from a children's bath time toy. Bought for just £1.00 the model has been a labour of love and great fun to both build and paint.

Materials used include, Plastic card, plastic rod, lollipop sticks, buttons, wire mesh and toy parts from my spares box.

The painting uses a sponging technique I saw on the Internet and the transfers or decals were bought from e-bay (China). They were a real paint to apply, but in the end, I'm pleased with the final result.

The biggest cost was the purchase of figures to use alongside the Hover Tank. I tried Dust Figures, but these were way too small. I tried both Tamiya and Revell 1.48th scale figures, but they just looked wrong. In the end I used Graven Images German Gotterdamerung 40mm or 1/43rd scale metal figures.

For full details of the build - an On-line record was posted on The Lead Adventure Forum - details can be found here;

The diorama base was the last item of modelling. A plexiglass picture frame with 1/43rd model railway scale accessories and some resin pieces from the spares box.

A Hover Tank on ARC?

Well it does need a pilot to fly it!
