This is my representation of the modernized AMX A-1B. This kit is pretty well made and the construction was very easy. This kit was painted with model master green and white colors. The grey, I made with my own mix of oils. This kit comes with photoetched seat belts and rubber tires. The tires really add to the overall look of the kit. This was my second build of the plane. I built the monoplace and got so excited with the kit that I decided to build the pair. Both builds were very enjoyable.

As a matter of habit I include some history of the plane: The AMX is a ground-attack aircraft jointly developed by Brazil and Italy. The AMX is designated A-11 Ghibli by the Italian Air Force and A-1 by the Brazilian Air Force. The Italian name, "Ghibli", is taken from the hot dry wind of the Libyan desert.

The AMX proved unsuitable for long-term operations in the Amazon. The local weather with high humidity and heat often caused electronics to crash. The new generation of avionics will solve this problem. FAB's (Brazilian Air Force) AMX modernization to the A-1M standard (M = Modernized) aimed not only to upgrade systems, but also to expand AMX capabilities and improve logistics.
