Here is my 213th Phantom to appear on ARC. You read that right. My 213th PHANTOM. This guy replaces my first entry on ARC. That 1/32 Tamiya F-4J of VF-84 is not up to standards anymore. In fact, it was given away around 10 years ago. This kit is actually a F-4C/D converted into a earlier F-4B. The conversion kits were from several companies. I received the kit and parts in one of my many trades with ARC member DonG.

The model also used after market pilots, as my C/D kit did not seem to have any. I added a centre line fuel tank from one of the F-4J kits in my stash.

The decals are MilSpec. A rather detailed offering with 3 1/2 large sheets of markings. All the data you could ever want. The only real hard part of the build, was cutting away most of the wings from the basic kit to get that "flat- wing" of the F-4B/N. Lots and lots of measuring, then repeated putty and sanding days to get it to look right. The conversion also had nice new wheels and tires in resin, new landing gear doors, chin pods and numerous different tops of the tail. The engines and exhausts are extreme improvement to the Tamiya cans.

I guess you could say Phantom 214 is here too. A egg plane with decals modified from my spares bin.
