After I built the MiG-19 from the new KP kit with an East German special paint scheme ( http://www.arcair.com/Gal16/15901-16000/gal15994-MiG-19-Bruckelt/00.shtm ) I wanted to use the decals (Indonesian and Russian Air Force) I had left for two very old KP kits I had stored for years.

I used the resin cockpits and deepdrawn canopies from Pavla to improve the models a bit.
As I wanted to show both models airborne, I used the pilots from the old kits. I had to cut off the arms and legs and fitted them again in more realistic positions.

I installed blocks out of polystyrene with a silicone tube inside to put the models on the displays I built.

I painted the red flashes on the Indonesian MiG. The decals don´t have the right color as it seems and also the shape in the rear is not correct, because the thickness stays constant as correctly shown in KP´s instructions.

Both models were painted with brush and colors from Revell and Humbrol. I sealed them with clear, silk varnish from Mr. Hobby.

Considering the age of the two kit oldies, those kits were lovely detailed with fine structures on the outside and I enjoyed making them.

Greetings from Germany
