This is the new Tamiya F-14A Tomcat.  It is the well known Tamiya kit with some new toolings that includes all you need to build a “Bombcat” with Lantirn-pod and all weapons.  Also included are the new-type helmets for pilot and rio.  The decal sheet is also superb and includes options for three F-14A, two from VF-154 “Black Knights” and one VF-14 “Tophatters”.  Building the kit is straight forward with no major problems. The overall fit is good and even if you can see that the basic kit is relatively old you get an exellant F-14.

I decided to do the “CAG-bird” of VF-154 in that very attractive scheme with red tail markings.  I also made a Bombcat with Lantirn-pod and LGB`s and a missle-“mix”.  I think this configuration is responsible for the motto: Bombcat: No Escort Required  Painting is with Gunze-Colours and a washing with oil-colour with layers of future to fix it and a last layer of Gunze flat.
