This is my 1/48
Revell F-86D. The kit was built straight out of the box with the exception
of custom decals made by Mike Grant. Another company came out with decals
for the same squadron, but they are not accurate. The F-86D depicted here
was the one that my Father was Crew Chief on. It was the Base Commanders
personal A/C at Geiger Field in Spokane, WA in the late 1950's.. The kit
went together almost perfectly with very little filler needed. It was
finished in Model Master enamels and Alclad II and of course Mike Grant Decals.
Mike Grant is truly a master at what he does, considering all he really had to
go on was some faded photographs and my fathers faded memory
I finished the model in time to take it to the RMMC's show in 2004 and won 3rd
place in the category it was entered in. I was very happy with 3rd place
as it was the first model show I've ever entered.
Matt
