1/72 PM Ta183

Hi!  This is my first article on ARC.

It's my PM Ta183, maybe the only available kit in 1/72.  The box contain about 20 parts modeled in grey plastic, a one-piece canopy and a small decal sheet.  There is little detail in the cockpit ,so I transplanted Academy's F-86 floor, instrument pedals and seat to it and some piping were added to the empty wheel wells too.

The panel lines are a little over done and not correct, so I filled most of them and re-scribed new ones according to AMTECH's 1/48 Ta183 kit, some hard work was done on the T-tail.

The fuselage was painted in RLM84 covered by RLM81/82 on the top with RLM81/82 mottles on both sides.  The middle part of the underside seems to have been left unpainted natural metal.  The bare metal has oxidized and consequently tarnished and appears quite dark in color.

The upper wings and tailplane are finished in RLM75/77 with sharp edges, a combination seemed not schemed but actually existed  (of course not on the Ta183, but his elder brother FW190D Dora) and the lower wings RLM84.

I don't like the kit's decals, so I painted the marks by myself.

It's really a hard work!

David
