Lufthansa launched its own low-cost airline 'Hans' at the beginning of April 2005, using A321s.

Modelled after fellow Start Alliance member United’s Ted, Hans promises low fares, good beer and smiles everywhere it flies. Hans' first aircraft was  appropriately named after that famous Bavarian, Hans the Humble - a nice gesture by Lufthansa.
