After
a while, it is possible today to return to ARC in order to make my second
contribution. I lost my
digital camera and after a year or so of hoping to find it at some
unexpected spot, I've convinced myself that it will never make it back from the warp
zone, as many of the pitot tubes, small windows, control sticks and other little
critical pieces of some of my kits. Back
to business...
The
kit is just pretty good. Some
problems assembling the roof with the rest of the fuselage.
At some stages, it seemed to be assembled just like the original.
I supported most of my references on Fred Gütschows Junkers G38 by
Aviatic Verlag. Good book, though I
have it in German and I have no idea if it is available in English. The
military version provided in the kit only appears in a rather bad picture.
It was never quite clear to me if the tail had yellow or white stripes;
so I assumed what I most liked, the yellow ones.

All
paints were Testors enamels. The
weathering was done with some chalk dust mixed with water and dry-brushing
different shades of ocre and black. I
wanted to simulate a weathering
more alike to a buildings roof top than an actual airplane.
It seemed to work. Though
the loop antenna looked a kind of thick I kept it… I didn't want it to be a
simple project. In the end I compare the G38 with an A-320 built also by
me in order to see how big the thing was. Amazing!
Well, hope you enjoy and promise, I will be working on improving my
pictures quality. Any comments are just welcome!
Best
Regards to all
