1/48 ProModeler Ju-87R-2 Stuka

This is my first article to ARC, so bear with me.  I've been modeling for about 2 1/2 years after a 10 year break of so from the hobby.  This isn't my first completed build, but it's the first one I've felt was "worthy" of being submitted here.

This is the 1/48 Monogram ProModeler Ju87R-2 Stuka kit, which is a rebox of the Hasegawa kit.  I built it strictly OOB, including the kit decals.  The only addition was a strand of my wife's hair for the radio antenna.

Once assembled, I masked the canopy using Black Magic's precut vinyl masks (I had to use the ones for the Hasegawa Ju 87B kit, as that's really what this kit is) and painted it the interior color.  Once that had set, the kit was primed using Model Master gray primer.  RLM 70 and 71 were both Model Master enamels, and the masking for the camouflage was done with standard masking tape.

Normally I'd apply a coat of Future before putting the decals on, but because the MM RLM paints are a semi-gloss, I took a chance and left out that step; it turns out I didn't need the Future at all.  Decals are from the kit and went on without a hitch using Micro Set and Micro Sol.  After a final application of Testors dull-cote, the masking was removed and a little bit of touch-up was done.  After that, it was on to the display case.

Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed building it!
