--------------------

This is the Hasegawa kit no.09667 of Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden was released as limited edition in January 2006.

The kit is very well done (I would complain only about the one-piece canopy) and so you will make do with Eduard Zoom FE 117 set and wires of  various diameters. Assembly itself ran without problems about the one-piece canopy) and so you will make do with Eduard Zoom FE 117 set and wires of  various diameters. Assembly itself ran without problems and so I could turn to painting relatively soon.

A method of painting was time–consuming and was as follows:

  1. Mr. Surfacer on the whole kit

  2. Silver color C159 also on the whole kit for later representation of scraping

  3. Orange yellow color C58 for ID stripes and cowling color C125 for anti glare panel

  4. Red and white color for Hinomarus (the airbrushed ones are far better than decals)

  5. Mitsubishi light grey C35 and dark green C124 as camo colors after masking of previous parts

  6. Fine sandpaper for representation of scraping

  7. Polishing of the whole kit by Tamiya compounds

  8. Very diluted light green C319 to make center of panels on upper surfaces lighter

  9. Applying of decals

  10. Semi-gloss clear C181 to protect colors and decals from the oil paints

  11. Grey oil color for highlighting panel lines and brown oil color for leakages of lubricants

  12. Very diluted black grey color C116 for representation of a worn surface on the whole kit

  13. Semi-gloss clear as the last layer

You can review my effort whose result is a plane of 302nd Kókútai which was based on Yokosuka, Atsugi, Komatsu and Maebashi  airfields to protect Japanese Islands from raids of B-29’s and aircraft carriers.

If you know something closer about this YoD-1198, I would appreciate it.ould appreciate it.
