This model was on my
top five to build for some years now, but some other project was
always in the way until now. I finally built it using an IPMS/Guatemala
theme contest (WWII Bipropelers) as an excuse. The model comes straight
from the box except for the decals, which are the P-61´s Superscale decals that
a good friend of mine (Manolo Briz) gave me.

The model is a real deal....you
have to make major work to make it fit. A lot of plastic and putty on the
wings base and a lot of plastic to make the cristals fit in; it seems that the
cristals mold has shrink over the years. I also re-scribed the
raised panel lines. The flaps looked more like air brakes on the
extended position, so I worked a little bit on the pins to leave them in a 45°
angle. I also added the antennas and seatbelts.
I used model master colors for the
invasion strips and gunze colors for the neutral gray and olive drab (which I
faded both with white) The motor smoke trails was made with metalizers
and a turpentine wash. I also added Greif lights to the green-yelllow-red
light under the wing.
I hope you enjoy.
Regards,
Eduardo
