1/72 Airfix Chipmunk

Today I want to to show you my Chipmunk.  Itīs an old Airfix Kit.  The first flight of this aircraft was in the year 1946.  In 1948 the Royal Air Force started to use it for pilot training.  About 1300 planes were built.  Many of them are still flying with civilian markings today.

Airfix made this 1:72 Kit in (I think) the seventies.  Itīs a pretty small kit with about 21 parts.  The cockpit interior is very simple.  Just two pilots are filling this "black hole".  I did not use them because they are not looking very realistic.  So I decided to spray it black all over to reduce the view.  For painting this model, I used colours from model master and xtracrylics.  Because of the age of the kit, I couldnīt use the original decals any more.  Gladly I found an modeldecal print with markings for a chipmunk.  The decals were easy to use with set & sol.  More Pictures can be seen on our Club Homepage www.ffmc.de
