Here
is my 1/48 Hasegawa F-104G in Turkish Air Force (TuaF) markings
Turkey
is one of the first countries to receive the F-104Gs within the MAP program.
The first 15 aircraft arrived in May 1963 and they were placed at the
144th Squadron in Mürted-Ankara .These aircraft were moved to the 191st
squadron in 1968.
The
model is based on the F-104G ( 61.2613 tail number) from the 191th squadron in
1970.

The
model was built mostly ouf the box except for the modifications in the cockpit.
I
used the CEC48254 Cutting
Edge Modelworks “Lockheed
C-2 Ejection seat with belts” for the F-104G/TF-104G. I
replaced the instrument panel with the parts from Eduard detail set.
The
model is painted with Alclad Aluminium except for the wings . I used different
tones of Alclad family for the different panels. The wings are painted with
Gunze Sangyo acrylics .
National
insignias and flags are from “Turquoise Decal” set. I used “Carpena”
decals for the code numbers. The stencils are mostly from the box.
Right
before finishing the model, I decided to replace the pitot tube with the “Fine
Molds AC-51 F-104 pitot tube”
Happy
modelling
