This was one of the new Tomcats from
Revell, and the flash- warping- and poor fit was over-whelming at first.
Of all the cats I have done, this one was the worst to work with. Lots of
time, milliput, sand paper, and elbow grease with some after market stuff and
she turned out ok.

- Scratch built the
pit with resin, plastic card, and steached sprue- including the removable GPS
display, cut out the fuel vent intake on the left vert fairing, and drilled out
the fuel vent pipe. The worst tasking was sanding down the intakes to
almost acurate scale and the fuselage seams.
- Black box TCS
pod and LANTIRN system
- Milliput for
the AN/ALR system
- multiple
drops of white glue for the GPS dome
- Mr. Hulls
awesome GE burner cans. " Hope to see these in production again soon,
They can't be beat!"
- Steel beech's
nose gear door and UHF antenna
- Two Bobs made this
look right with an excellent VF-143 sheet
- Painting done with
model master paints and a cheap testors gun, weathered lightly with pastels then
finished with Future.
Looks good for my beginner skills,
Still scared of the 2 Hasagewa kits on the shelf. I could not of done this
with out the help of many an ARCer and DACO's Tomcat Book. Hope to of
finished this for the Sunset but with work and other delays it did not make it
in time. To all the after market guys and gals- Thumbs Up!!!
Happy Modeling
Josh
