1/48 Revell F-16 Block 5

Hello this is my first submission to ARC and it is also my first completed model kit.  The model itself was a bargain bin job.  It only cost me 9 euros, soon after buying it I could see why!  This model is really old and really basic.  It has raised panel lines, very little detail and I’m sure the F-16 experts can point out plenty of inaccuracies. However it is the first model I made, I think it somewhat resembles the target aircraft (see below). I found some references on the excellent site F16.net.  The model was made completely out of the box, using kit decals (roundels and serial number look to big in my opinion). Next kit I try I will try to weather… it’s gonna be a Tamiya A10 or Academy Mig-29... both are on the bench…

I used Humbrol enamels and coated the model with Future (Johnsons Klear in Ireland). I liked the gloss coat that it left and decided not to use a matt varnish. I suppose it’s a matter of taste.

I would like to thank all the article writers on ARC without whom I would not have picked up many tips such as the use of future, drybrushing, masking techniques, etc... Next time I’ll use even more.  I’m just happy to finish a model :) Thanks for looking.
