Okay, okay...you
guys were right. The Airfix kit is very old, and not real
detailed, but it is big, and is fun to build, and I'm a cheapskate.
And my wife would scream if I told her the price of the Trumpeter kit.
I built this one right out of the box, only added the Eduard seat belts
and Eagle Strike decals. I used different shades of Allclad
aluminums to get the varied oxidation effect. I bought some Waldron
gauges, not knowing I needed a special punch, so I just used the ones
in the kit. I thinned some flat black and dabbed a drop over each
face on the clear insert, then dry-brushed flat white over the raised
surfaces. This is also my first attempt at smoke...please don't
laugh! I guess I need a better airbrush, eh?

The Jeep is the
Hasegawa kit, very nicely detailed, great parts fit. To get the
wiper pattern on the windshield, I cut some masking tape and taped it over
the windshield, then sprayed it with clear Testor's Dullcote.
Many thanks to
Steve for providing us a place to display our craft.
