This
is a Revell Monogram Republic F105D I completed about 2 years ago. One sunny
day, I took it out for some photography. Here are the results! The kit is mostly
OOB save for the True Details resin cockpit. The kit was also completely
rescribed. As usual, I painted it with Gunze Sangyo colors and weathered it with
a combination of an artist oil wash and bits of Testors silver “chipped
paint”. Decals are from the Twobobs line. I really dig the wrap around scheme.

While
this is a model kit that is past its prime from a molding technology
standpoint, the assembly was quite straight forward and smooth. The only
real challenge was in trying to rescribe the raised lines while
manhandling the kit and its subtle contours. I really do wish someone
would also finally reproduce the landing gear in white metal or brass as
they began to sag not long after the model was finished.
All
in all quite a fun process working on this kit of a very beautiful aircraft in
my opinion.
