I decided to build this kit for two reasons: my 1/72 scale WW I commitment was a bit slack and Steve didn't have a D VII in the gallery.  This is a level 1 kit, with two finishing options.  I chose the multi colored Oblt. Rudolph Berthold version as it was more challenging.  I added some scratch built control surface actuators & rigging and made bushings for the sloppy prop shaft.  The pilot figure was poor as well but I dumped him in at the last minute: he's not fastened in for replacement considerations.

I used markers to a fair extent on this build.  I have used markers on tires and wires in the past, but on this build I give' r 'dat, using them on the prop & for the multi colored under wing scheme.  I am happy with the results.

All in all a reasonably good kit for the price.
