This is my 1/48 Dragon Junkers Ju-88 A4 finished with the markings of Stab II /KG 77 in Sicily-Gerbini airfield during 1942. (Heinrich Paepcke ,commander of II /KG 77 had flown on this machine.) Though it has
the usual 70/71 camouflage, it is filled also with RLM 76 and 79 stains on the upper
and side surfaces. The
construction started with cockpit as usual. The cockpit
components are painted with RLM66 by using Tamiya acrylics. The details of
the cockpit are enough well but I decided to modify some areas. Photo edge
instrument panel and the seat belts are from Eduard set. Click on images below to see larger images The multi part wing structure needs some putty and sanding activities, but this is not a big problem if you like sanding plastic things.
The paint scheme and the decals are from Kagero Monographs book “Junkers Ju-88 vol.2”. Painting was done with Gunze Sangyo and Tamiya acrylics. Firstly I painted the upper surfaces with RLM 70 / 71 scheme. In the second step , I added RLM 79 and RLM 76. The lower surfaces were painted wiht RLM 76 regarding to my reference. The landing light on the left wing is scratchbuilt. After some
weathering work, it s finished by
applying a matt coat from Gunze Sangyo. Happy Modelling Tolga Click on images below to see larger images
