This is the Fonderie
Miniatures kit, a curious mix of ill-fitting plastic parts and nicely done resin
pieces. Mostly OOB, markings from spares. One modification was to make removable
wing panels to make storage easier, using telescoping brass tubes.
It's designed by a
German firm for the Netherlands Navy. It was stationed in the East Indies until
chased out by the Japanese. It fled to Australia and finished its career as a
transport in the RAAF.

Beast of a kit, needed lots
of block sanding to get surfaces square. Plenty of plastic, which is
fortunate as I actually used my bench-grinder on some of the seams.
Lots of work, but in
the end, worth it to me. Uncommon subject in an even less common scheme.
