This
model is the F-86 Mk6 from Hasegawa in 1/48 scale,
devoted to Erich Hartmann, the ace from World War Two. The kit is as of
usual very precise, and she offers the extremities wings in resin, because this
version asks for the shortening of the wings. To the kit I added the beautiful
AIRES cockpit, as well as the fuselage machine guns, that I chose to show on one
side.

Once
filled and sanded, I painted the entire model in matt Black, this to create a base for the aluminum.
Subsequently
I applied the red matt in the engine intake and on the tail, and I painted
with some aluminum slightly darkened various panels on the fuselage.
I masked all the coloured areas with Tamiya masking tape
and I applied the Aluminium Metalizer from Model-Master, as after
all all the colors. After two coats of gloss clear, I applied the
decals and softened them with the Mr. Mark Softer from Gunze, and
again applied two coats of gloss clear.
The
shine of the various fuselage panels had to be different and some panels were
masked with post-it notes, and then I applied a light dull coat.
A beautiful washing of black temper and a coat of gloss clear was applied
in non homogeneous way and the job it was complete.
