United States of America Independence Day 2009

Hello everyone.  This is my latest creation. The A-1 Skyraider has always appealed to me.  I guess the mission it performed was so noble it just begged to be loved.  The Skyraider to me has very pleasing lines and just looks tough.  I built this Skyraider for a very good friend of mine.  He recently retired and I figured this would be a great retirement gift.

The Skyraider was built out of the box except for the Napalm canisters.  Those came from the Hasegawa weapons set.  Tamiya kits, as everyone knows, just fall together.  It was such a pleasure to build.  I used an Iwata airbrush with Model Master Acrylics for the paint.  I made the remove before flight tags from my printer at home.  I had so much fun building this kit.  I'm not sure about the placement of the RBF tags but, I put them where it seemed logical.  I held the weathering to a minimum.  I just didn't want to over do it.

Any critique good or bad would be appreciated. Happy modeling everyone!
