This is the Tamiya 1/48th Bf-109E-3, as boxed for the Philippines.  Tamiya boxes this as an E-4, but I managed to obtain the glass from Crazy Don Flynn, to make it up as an E-3. The machine is that of Dr Erich Mix, Tchische Offizier, Jg-53, 1939. Jg-53 was well known for its adventures into non standard camo schemes in the early years of the war.

Paints are Model Master enamels, nrs 63/71/03/65. The interior is from Aires, while the wheels and exhausts are from Ultracast. the seat belts & buckles, brake lines, radiator intake stiffeners, and external red radiator shutter indicators are scratch built. Paint was applied using soft masks made from index cards, adhered with Yellow Tack about 1/16th inch from the surface. Antenna cables are 2 oz monofilament fishing line. Decals were made up by a friend, with the national markings from the spares box.

Hope you enjoy,
