This new decal
sheet from Cutting
Edge Modelworks includes markings for VFA-15 and VFA105 for two F/A-18C's in
1/48 scale. The recommended kit for these decals is the Hasegawa F/A-18C.
The first Hornet on this sheet is
a F/A-18C with the VFA-15. This CAG bird is in the standard FS 36375
/ FS 36320 scheme and features black stenciling and numbers. On the tails
is a Gold Lion riding a white missile to target. There is also a
golden wrench on both sides of the fuselage. There is also the text
Valions on the drop tanks. On the right side of the forward fuselage are
red and white Stripes from the US Flag with the text "Don't Tread on
Me". this jet has the refueling boom door removed due to problems
with the cover during combat operations. The
second Hornet on this sheet is a F/A-18C with the VFA-15. This CAG bird is
in the standard FS 36375 / FS 36320 scheme and features green/gold
stenciling and numbers. On the tails is a black knight chess piece on a
green pennant. This jet flew off the USS Harry S Truman and text on the
side of the fuselage reads "GIVE 'EM HELL". This jet also
includes mission markings. The decals were flawlessly printed and the clear
carrier film is trimmed very close to the crisply printed colored areas, which
is always good to see.
