This new decal sheet from Yellow Hammer Decals includes markings for two different 1/72 F-4J Phantom II's.  The recommended kits for these decals is any 1/72 F-4J kit.

The first aircraft is an F-4J with VF-84 Jolly Rogers during Feb 1967 and 1974.  This particular F-4J has markings for the USS Roosevelt.  The paint scheme is Light Gull Gray FS 16440 on top and Insignia white FS 17875 on the underside.  The vertical stab is black with those stunning white Jolly Rogers markings taking up the bulk of the tail and the very tip top of the tail is Yellow FS 13538.  The nose cone is black as is the small anti-glare panel around the windscreen.  The wing tips are also yellow like the top of the tail.  Markings on the rest of the jet are reasonably colourful.......the national insignia are red/white/blue.  Jet intake warning triangles and ejection seat triangles are both in red.  This jet also has a diagonal black stripe with yellow triangles on both sides of the fuselage.

The second aircraft is from the famous VX-4 "Evaluators" who flew the F-4 for over 25 years.  The jet is overall gloss black and has a big white "Playboy Bunny" insignia on the tail.  Markings on the rest of the jet are reasonably colourful.......the national insignia are red/white/blue.  Jet intake warning triangles and ejection seat triangles are both in red.  This Phantom II has blue stripes with yellow trim on both sides along the fuselage with white stars over the stripes.  Blue stripes with yellow trim also grace the outboard area of the wings on the top and bottom.

The decals were flawlessly printed and the clear carrier film is trimmed very close to the crisply printed colored areas.  The colours look good and will cover very well.  The artwork is quite appealing.

The instructions are clear and includes 3 view drawings.

A very nice decal sheet and highly recommended for all the F-4 or Jolly Rogers of Black Bunny fans out there.

I would like to thank Cutting Edge Modelworks for providing me with this review sample.
