This sheet has been on Twobobs "short list" for quite some time now and it's good to see they've finally gotten around to releasing it!  Two "hard-wing" F-4s from SEA are on this sheet and there are enough markings provided to build both complete jets.

F-4E Chico the Gunfighter - This aircraft is unique in that it was modified by crews in the field to carry out the Fast FAC mission along the Ho Chi Mihn Trail.  Modified to carry the Mk. 20 Rockeye along with the SUU-23 Gun Pod, this jet was one of the few (if not only) F-4 that could carry the Rockeye.  The Rockeye is typically a US Navy munition.

References were provided by noted aviation artist, Wade Meyers.  Wade is a personal friend of Col. Pewitt.  Col. Pewitt was the pilot of Chico in the Vietnam War.

F-4E A/C 551 - This was the personal mount of Lt. Don Logan during the Vietnam War.  Don was a WSO on the F-4 and also has a ton of F-111 time.  If the name sounds familiar, it should.  Lt. John Dallager and Lt. Logan was shot  down on 5 July 1972 and  spent close to a year as POWs at the Hanoi Hilton.  This aircraft was not the aircraft that Lt. Logan was shot down in but is the one that he was assigned to.

There is also a MiG-21 kill associated with this A/C.  It has not been substantiated though so it is not an official kill as far as the USAF is concerned.  References were provided by Don Logan himself.

Don's name might also sound familiar if you own any aviation books.  He puts out some great stuff and you can see his work at www.donloganbooks.com

The decals are contained on one decal sheet and are flawlessly printed and in perfect register.  All the little stencils are clear and readable.

The 2 pages of instructions include 4 view colour drawings showing camo scheme and decal placement.  Paint colours are listed in FS#'s as well as Humbrol, Testors, Gunze Sangyo and Xtracolor. Also included is a first hand story by of being shot down in an F-4 over Vietnam and being taken prisoner.

A very pleasing decal sheet and highly recommended for anyone interested in SEA F-4's.  I'd like to thank Twobobs for the review sample.

This sheet is available through http://www.twobobs.net/ and select US Hobby Shops.  Overseas customers can purchase these from Twobobs site or through Twobobs network of overseas distributors.  Remember, shipping is always FREE to US Customers at Twobobs!!
