This new decal sheet from
Cutting Edge
Modelworks includes markings for 2 special P-51D's.
The first Mustang is a
P-51D-10-NA flown by Capt Clarance 'Bud' Anderson with the 362nd FS FS,
357th FG in late 1944. This P-51 has script on the side of the nose of that
reads OLD CROW. The prop spinner is red and yellow striped with a
red and yellow checker board stripe around the front of the nose
directly behind the prop spinner. White code letters on the fuselage are
B6 S. This Mustang is overall Olive Drag with Neutral Gray
undersides. There are D-Day stripes under the rear fuselage and a
white stripe on the top and bottom of the wings and tail horizontal
flying surfaces.
The second Mustang is a
P-51D-15-NA flown by Lt Col Tom Hayes with the 364 FS of the 357th FG. This P-51
has script on the side of the nose of that reads "Frenesi". This Mustang has a large number of mission markings
along the top side of the engine cowling and 11 kill markings below the
canopy. The prop spinner is red and yellow striped with a red and
yellow checker board stripe around the front of the nose directly behind
the prop spinner. White and black code letters on
the fuselage are C5 N. This Mustang is overall Olive Drag with
Neutral Gray undersides. There are D-Day stripes under the rear
fuselage and D-Day stripes on the bottom of the wings and a white stripe
on the top of the wings and tail horizontal flying surfaces.

The decals were
flawlessly printed and in perfect registration with good colour on 2 decal
sheets. One complete set of stencils is included.
The instructions are clear
and include colour drawings to assist in decal placement. There is
also 3 pages of text including with history of these aircraft and helpful info on decal installation.
There is also line drawings showing the placement of the stencil decals.
Recommended kits are the
1/32 Dragon P-51D or the 1/32 Hasegawa P-51D.
The P-51 Mustang is one of
the most beautiful fighters produced during WW2 and it's a definite
pleasure to see these markings in 1/32.
