I'm pleased to feature the very first decal sheet from Impact Decals. This new decal sheet from Impact Decals includes markings for three different 1/48 USMC A-6 Intruder's in colorful paint schemes from 1971, 1976 and 1992. Two of the Intruders on this sheet are from the time of colorful aircraft before everything switched to lo-viz paint schemes. The first aircraft is a A-6A BuNo. 155661 Intruder from 1971 aboard the USS Coral Sea (CVA 43), Yankee Station, South China Sea during the Vietnam War time period. The paint scheme for this aircraft is Non-Specular Light Gull Gray FS 36440 on top and FS 17875 Insignia White on the underside. The wing and empennage leading edges are aluminum. The anti-glare panel is Dark Gull Gray FS 36231. The rudder is green with artwork on both sides.....which is all supplied as a decal. Overall markings are mostly black and the national insignia are red/white/blue. There is also special USMC artwork on the mid fuselage on both sides. |

The second aircraft is a A-6E BuNo. 155616 Intruder from 1976 based at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. The paint scheme for this aircraft is Non-Specular Light Gull Gray FS 36440 on top and FS 17875 Insignia White on the underside. The wing and empennage leading edges are aluminum. The anti-glare panel is Dark Gull Gray FS 36231. The tail and rudder is True Blue FS 15102 with white serial numbers and colorful "Tiger" art work on the rudder of a Tiger bursting through a brick wall. Overall markings are mostly black and the national insignia are red/white/blue and the randome is "Randome Tan". |
