Review by Steve Bamford

This is another high quality ALPS printed decal sheet from Mike Grant Decals.  Because the decals are ALPS printed, you will have to cut the decals from the one piece clear carrier film, but considering the quality of these decals, this is not a big problem.   What do you get in this package.  You get 1 page of colour instruction sheets and one sheet of decals.  The decal sheet contains markings for 3 aircraft: Swiss Air Force, Luftwaffe medical plane, and Luftwaffe night-fighter unit plane.  The variety of markings included on this one sheet is quite good as you can see from the colour profile below.

  1. The Swiss Airforce plane is from the summer of 1943.  This particular plane has 2 paint schemes.  There is the earlier paint scheme with the red nose and the later neutrality paint scheme with white nose, wingtips and white fuselage bands.  The orange/yellow colour is a bit of  a question mark.  The shade of this colour is quite different on the instruction sheet as compared to Mikes own website.  So it will be up to the individual modeller as to which colour they want to go with.

  2. The second paint scheme is for a medical evacuation Storch as flown by the Luftwaffe in Tunisia in 1943.  The upper surfaces on this one are RLM 70/RLM71 and the lower surfaces are RLM 76.

  3. The third plane is a Storch that was attached to a nigthfighter unit of the Luftwaffe.  It's paint scheme is RLM 70/RLM71 and the lower surfaces are RLM 76.

The register on the sample before me is perfect and the colours seem quite accurate.  All in all this is a very nice sheet with a good and interesting variety of markings.
