This new book from IsraDecal
Publications is
the 6th book in their Aircraft of the Israeli Air Force series. This soft
cover 48 page book covers the Gloster
Meteor in the Israeli Air Force service. It was written by Ra'anan
Weiss himself, so you know you've got the expert pulling together all the photos
and history. The Meteor was the first jet fighter used by Israel and was
acquired in 1953 and for a short while it was the front line defender of the
Israeli skies.

This book covers the history with
plenty of text and 122 photos (including 15 color photos) telling the full story
of the Israeli Meteor from the beginning to the end when the IAF Meteor joined
other former defenders of Israeli skies at the IAF Museum. After their
operational life, some of the
Meteors were given to villages to put in playground for kids to play on.
At the back of the book are color profiles for 9 Israeli Meteors.
Ra'anan
Weiss is an exhaustive researcher and this comes through in this book with all
the great detail in the text and the photos. Ra'anan really knows his stuff
and each of his books is a treat to read as they are packed with information.
IsraDecal
has a new Meteor decal sheet and it is well worth checking out as well. This book
and the decal sheet would make the perfect set if you'd like to build a Meteor
in Israeli markings to add to your display case. This book is written from
both a historian and a modelers point of view.
You can buy this book and other
books and decal sheet and resin conversion parts for Israeli aircraft direct
from IsraDecal.
