Zactomodels has released a series Russian missiles in 1/32 scale to go with their other resin goodies for the 1/32 MiG-29 and the 1/32 Su-27.  This first set is the Vympel R-73 - AA-11 Archer missile that was carried by MiG-21, MiG-29, Su-27 and Su-30.

This resin set includes 2 complete missiles + 4 extra photo-etch AOA probes, 4 extra fore-fins and 4 extra fore-canards.

Resin casting is of a very high quality and all the detail is very well done with no air bubbles and is up to the very high standards of quality we have all come to appreciate from Zactomodels.  This is a kit in itself to build these 2 missiles and I'm amazed by the number of parts that are included in each missile.  One of the tiniest little resin fins was broken in my sample copy, but both parts for it were in the bag, so it will be possible to CA glue then back together.  The broken part is thinner than paper......amazing how Chris at Zactomodels can turn out resin castings of such high quality.  These are very detail rich missiles.....VERY detail rich.

There is one page of instructions........which seems to cover all the important stuff to get these missiles assembled.  Painting instructions aren't included, so you'll have to figure that out yourself from the Internet, which shouldn't take much effort, but Zactomodels has included suggestions for decals for these missiles.

I love the new missiles that Zactomodels has come out with and now you have no reason for not having super detailed weapons hanging from your big Russian jet.  Well done Chris!!!

You can learn more about this line of Russian missiles by viewing the In-Progress thread on the ARC forums.

Steve

I would like to thank Chris at Zactomodels for providing me with this review sample.
