Hasegawa 1/32 Shoki
offers a great canvas to start off with if you’re wishing to add something a
little extra or super detail your build. Aftermarket photo etch masters, Eduard
has come to the game by offering an Interior and Exterior PE Sets in their last
few monthly releases. Today, I have the exterior set to show off, so you can see
what you get for your buck.

Jammed onto the
small fret of photo etch is 142 silver/gray parts by my count and some of the
parts are very small! The instructions are printed in black and white and on a
small size of paper. Half the size compared to the last lot of Eduard sets that
I have purchase in the past. But they are still are easy and very clear to
follow and understand. The is not a huge amount of detail to comment on as most
of its individual rivets or lines of rivets, but its nicely done and up to the
usual standard that Eduard offers.
The most of the
parts that are supplied within the set are for the Landing gear areas, which
include Torque links, brake lines and retaining clips. Covers/panels and
linkages for the front and rear landing gears. Ignition wires and connecting
linkages/frames between the cylinders heads are also included for Ha.109 engine
assembly. The left over components are air vents and grilles for the air intake
and fuel cooler and cooling jackets for the machine guns.
This photo etch set
will greatly enhance Hasegawa’s level of detail and doesn’t require any
major surgery to make any of the photo etch parts to fit correctly. It would be
a nice photo etch set for a beginner to start their photo etch experience with
also.
I would like to
thank Hobby
Link Japan for the
supplying this review sample.
