"The Hat
in the Ring Gang"
The 94th Aero Squadron was one of the first American fighter squadrons to
see combat service in World War 1. Though America was late coming into the war
as far as air fighting was concerned, they succeeded in contributing greatly to
it's outcome with such personages as Eddie Rickenbacker and Raol Lufberry. Both
men were members of the 94th, "Hat in the Ring" Aero Squadron which
was based in Toul France, Just 18 miles from the German border. This decal
sheet includes 2 of their aircraft from just after WW1 in 1919.
Special
thanks goes to Tom Faletti, Matt Bittner, John Kelly, Ed Mautner and Stephen
Lawson. The 3 pages of instructions are
clear and include 3 color views of each aircraft. The decals
are beautifully printed on 1 decal sheet.
Set comes with markings for two
complete aircraft:
- "Diamond Dick", Lt.
Palmer 94th Aero Squadron, Ft. Alexander, Coblenz Germany 1919
- "Flag Bus", Capt.
Chambers 94th Aero Squadron, Ft Alexander, Coblenz Germany. April 1919

The paint
schemes are some of the wildest I've seen and I am totally in love with the
"Flag Bus" Spad with all
its red and white stripes and Stars. The "Diamond Dick" aircraft
with all the red and blue diamonds looks great.......but the "Flag
Bus" Spad looks like a Spad wrapped in the American flag and that looks
very cool. Both planes have big stars on the wheels........who ever did
the paint schemes on the original planes was certainly looking to attract
plenty of attention.
