Little Wild
Horses - The OH-6A in Vietnam
This decal
sheet from
Fireball
Modelworks features nine different Loaches used by the US Army in the last half of the Vietnam war. As a partner with
the fearsome AH-1G HueyCobra in Pink Teams (red for guns + white for scouts = pink), the OH-6A played the
dangerous role of low-level eyes and ears for the cavalry. It was also used to spot artillery and even as a
medevac, but it was the aeroscout mission that made the Loach a legend to its crews and the soldiers they supported.

I started working on this set in 2009 and
put it to the side in early 2010. I finally got my butt in gear and
finished it!
A whole lot of special thanks go to Mr.
Hugh Mills for his generous assistance and his willingness to answer my
goofy questions about this amazing little helicopter.
