Philippe Cléro joins us from Switzerland with his first model on ARC.  This Philippe's 1/72 Hasegawa F-16 FSW "Whatif" finished with custom made decals.  This one great looking f-16 and I'm very pleased to see Philippe join us here on ARC.  Welcome to ARC Philippe.

Greg Kerry joins us with another of his stellar dioramas.  He has combined the 1/72 Revell Ki-61 & Zvezda Samurai figures to create quite the action packed and colourful scene.  His photos really are a feast for the eyes......this is quite the scene and very well done.

  Space Shuttle Challenger Accident 1986 

WW1 Events - this date in  1916

Richard Spreckley has done an exceptional job on his 1/48 Hasegawa Spitfire T9 with Brigade Models resin conversion.  Richard also added Eduard photo etch and wrapped it all up with a stunning weathering job.  This particular airframe fought as a single seater with the RCAF during WW II and was converted to a 2 seater after the war.  Richard's work is impeccable.

J.J.Chen joins us with 2 Skyhawks today.  These are his 1/72 Hasegawa A-4E & Diecast A-4M Skyhawk.  J.J. finished both of these complete with stunning weathering jobs in 2 very different camo schemes.  I love the look of both of these A-4's.

Roderick Vargas starts today with his 4th article on ARC.  This is his flawless 1/32 Revell BK117 Orlando Regional Medical Center.  Roderick  used custom decals by Firebird Designs and finished it to a very high standard.  You can see more of his helo models by clicking the link at the bottom of his article.

Shawn "phantom" Weiler is here with another of his RCAF jets.  This is his 1/48 Esci Starfighter #27 finished in the colourful markings using Leading Edge decals. Shawn makes the Esci kit look very good.

Australia Day

India Republic Day

Tom Thounaojam has been building his 1/72 Heller Su-30MKI to honour the Indian Republic Day.  Tom had a challenging time building this Heller kit and the modifying it and adding further details to make it an Indian Su-30. It's good to see this model on this special update.

Murli Rajan is a huge supporter of these special Indian updates and today he is here with his 51st article on ARC.  This is his 1/144 Minicraft C-130J-30s Hercules which he extended the fuselage on and then added a selection of other details to complete.  Murli did a huge amount of extra work on his Indian Herc and he included photos so you could follow along in his build.  This is an impressive build.

Tom Thounaojam is back with his second article today.  This is his 1/72 Revell Hawker Hunter in Indian markings.  Tom found this kit a joy to build and the end result looks first class.  It's good to see a Hunter in Indian markings.  Beautiful work Tom.

For you folks struggling under the big snowstorm in the eastern US all I can say is....hang in there.

Gerd Wilcken starts your week with one of the best looking F-14s to ever take to the air.  This is the 1/144 Trumpeter F-14A NAS Fallon in one of those famous Aggressors schemes from 1999. Gerd is a master at this smaller scale and you can see more of his excellent work by clicking the link at the bottom of his article.  I love the look of this F-14...well done Gerd.

Pablo Angel Herrera joins us from sunny Guatemala today with his 1/48 Hasegawa Bf-109E-4/B.  Pablo chose a very interesting camo scheme for his Emil and finished it to his usual very high standard.  For you folks in snow country.....the weather in Guatemala today is sunny with temps in the mid 86F... 30C for you metric types...which sounds pretty good to me.  The muted look of this camo scheme looks perfect.

Ermanno Bonafin is here from Italy with his 30th article on ARC and it is one of the famous Goodyear racing Corsairs.  This is his 1/48 Special Hobby Super Corsair Racer #57 which was one of the more famous post war racers.  Ermanno tells some of the history of this famous aircraft.  Beautiful work Ermanno.

Dragan Cvetic joins us today with his 114th article on ARC.  This is his 1/72 R.V.Aircraft MiG-23 MLD with added scratchbuilt cockpit details as well as some added exterior detailing.  Dragan chose to make his MiG as a Syrian jet with it's great looking camo scheme and weapons load.  I love the look of the camo on this one.

WW1 Events - this date in  1916

Burt Gustafson did a first class out of the box build of the 1/48 Hasegawa F-4S Vandy 75.  This is a special 75th anniversary scheme and Burt captured it beautifully.  I love the job he did on this Phantom.

Thomas Brückelt is here with a very special model.  This is his 1/72 Mach2 Kaman HH-43 Huskie which is the first Huskie on ARC.  Thomas did quite a bit of detailing on the interior and exterior to dress up the detail to make this quite the eye catching model with it's counter rotating rotors.  Very nice indeed Thomas.

WW1 Events - this date in  1916

Shawn "phantom" Weiler has taken the classic 1/48 Esci CF-104 Starfighter #26 and turned it into a gem.  He did do a bit of extra work to build this older kit and then finished it off with the top notch Leading Edge decals as one of the famous Canadian Starfighters. Shawn also included another photo of his red RCAF Starfighters.

J.J.Chen is here to make you smile with his 1/72 Hasegawa F4U-1 ‘Skipper’.  This is the Corsair from the movie 'Planes' with dropped flaps and eyes painted on the windscreen. J.J. also added them same Jolly Rogers style artwork as seen on the Corsair in the movie.  I loved seeing this one.....J.J. is quite the Dad to build this one for his young son.  I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

WW1 Events - this date in  1916

Carmel J. Attard is here with a very special model.  This is his 1/72 Rareplanes Piper L-4 Grasshopper given some scratchbuilt details and finished in a silver paint scheme.  This is a very neat little aircraft and Carmel tells the history behind this aircraft.  I'm pleased to see the first Grasshopper on ARC.

Klaasjan Schuuring is here with his 3rd article on ARC and what a beauty this is.  This is his 1/32 Kinetic F-86F-30 Sabre Golden Hawk with some great detail inside the rear fuselage that shows well when the tail section is removed to show off the engine.  Klaasjan  also added extra detailing to the cockpit.  I love the job he did on the gold paint scheme.

Chi Hung/Hung is here with his first model on ARC and it is a beauty.  This is the 1/72 Trumpeter Su-24MR.  Extra work was done to modify and correct this kit to make it a more accurate reconnaissance version and I must say I love the look of the finished model.  Excellent Su-24.  Welcome to ARC!!!

Thomas Brückelt has a passion for the 1/48 AcroKit MDM-1 Fox two-seat aerobatic glider.  He flies the 1/1 version of this glider so it was only natural he would build a model of this beauty.  He added a cockpit and it you look closelyt you will see it has a sharks mouth which is fitting for such a sleek aerobatic glider.  He's also included a video of the full sized glider in flight.  Very cool Thomas...I envy you.

WW1 Events - this date in  1916

Ronald Dorenbos is here with a Silly Week entry that looks quite realistic and this is also his first article on ARC.  This is his 1/72 Fokker Starhunter which is a combination of the Starfighter fuselage and Hunter wings as developed by the Dutch.  The design is very well done and Ronald also includes a great story to go with his cool aircraft.  Welcome to ARC Ronald. 

Mark L. Rossmann joins us with his "Defence of the Reich” 1/48 Monogram Bf-109G-6.  Mark tells the history of the decline of the Luftwaffe during WW2 and his Gustav is one of the aircraft featured in his article.  Mark's 109 is built and finished to a very high standard and features weathering and his article captures the events in the epic battles in the latter half of WW2 in Europe.

WW1 Events - this date in  1916

Floyd S. Werner, Jr. is here with an in-depth full build review of the 1/48 Eduard Bf-109G.  This is part of the Royal Class series of kits and Floyd is a 109 expert, so his insight is quite helpful to say the least.  Plus seeing him build a model is a special treat.  I love the fact this model kit comes with a Luftwaffe beer glass.  Sit back and enjoy Floyds article.

J.J.Chen is here with his beautiful build of the classic 1/48 Tamiya Sea Harrier FRS Mk1.  J.J. added drop tanks and missiles to complete his Harrier and added a pilot to complete the look.  The RN Sea Harrier is a great looking jet and it is always a good day when one is featured on ARC.

Onami joins us from Japan with his first article on ARC.  This is the classic 1/72 Revell (ex.Matchbox) Handley Page Victor K.Mk.2 with it's horrible fit issues all corrected and modified to a level that makes this model a Masterpiece.  At the bottom of the article is a link to Onami's website with a large selection of in-progress photos showing the extreme work involved to turn this kit into such a masterpiece.  You will be shocked and amazed when you see the work that was done during the 1 year it took to build.  Welcome to ARC Onami!!!


Emre Tuzun is here with his 3rd article on ARC and what a beauty it is.  This is the classic 1/72 Heller Sea King finished and weathered to a very high standard as a Belgium SAR Sea King.  I particularly enjoyed seeing the camo scheme on this chopper.  Beautiful work Emre.

Eugene E. Madara, Esq. has been very creative building his Norwegian Indigenous Fighter Design “Svart Wolf”.  This is a little known aircraft that has been hidden from history, but Eugene is here to tell you the story.  Excellent design Eugene.


George Oh is here with an amusing diorama of an equally amusing story from down under called Dynamite Dog.  I do love George's diorama....it fits the story perfectly.  This one is a hoot!!!

Eugene E. Madara, Esq. is here with his USAF “Space Defender” Mk. VII in it's space camo.  Eugene explains about the base on the moon that operates these fighters in the future....read his article for the full story about his model.


George Oh joins us from Down Under during his summer to show us his Not-the-Titanic.  George has successful replicated the sinking of a ship with all the air that gets released.  I quite enjoyed seeing this little diorama.....definitely different and refreshing and very well done.

Eugene E. Madara, Esq. is here with his Republic of Kurdistan Air Force “Saladin” Mk. 1.  This V-TOL aircraft borrows technology from the A-10 to create the ultimate ground attack aircraft.  I loved seeing this one.....very creative.

Silly Week continues with 2 more great models.
Carl Gootzen has never stopped surprising me with the variety of models he builds and this massive 1/?? Conversion of Thomas Train is no exception.  This was an unwanted project donated to him that he remade into Thomas and then donated it to his daughters pre-school classroom.  Carl's work was excellent and you can only imagine the excitement of the kids when they saw this in their classroom.  Well done Carl!!!

Dave Bailey, aka The Rat is capturing the excitement of the new Star Wars movie currently at the theatres with his what-if 1/72 Hobbycraft CX-100.  Dave's X-wing model looks fantastic....but it his story that will really make you smile.  Fun times Dave....thanks for sharing.

WW1 Events - this date in  1916

Eugene E. Madara, Esq. joins us in top creative style with his first article on ARC.  This is his great looking North American X-51 “Naboo Class” Fighter.  This is a model of a top secret post war Mustang that was developed for the USN.  I quite enjoyed the way the lines flow so well on this what-if and I'm pleased to say we'll have more models from Eugene on ARC in the future.

Brian Duddy joins us with his second model on ARC and this one is a treat to the eyes.  This is his Finnerschnitzel 109G as flown by a very successful Finnish pilot.  Brian pulled this one off in fine style....I love it and the Finnish pilot figure just makes it perfect.  Beautiful work Brian...welcome to Silly Week.

Dave Bailey, aka The Rat gets today started with his Blackburn Skua IIR.  Dave tells of a fictional mission in his article of the attack against the Germany invasion fleet.  His Skua looks the part and his story is a very interesting read.

Kees Kuyper is here with his very creative jet powered 1/72 Matchbox Dornier 28 J in ARC Airline livery.  Kees has built a few of his What-if Donier 28's and I've enjoyed seeing all of them.
