This is my latest build, the 1/72 Hobbyboss Mi-24 Hind in the Iraq air force color scheme. The kit was made out of the box and was a pleasure to build. The model is a downscale of the Trumpeter 1/35 Hind, but without the rivets and less options such as opening the cockpit doors, the option to display the engines...

I spent about two months on this kit. I chose to build this model after reading a review of it in Model Airplane International magazine, they said the fit is very good and this should be the best one in his scale.

As this is my first model in 1/72 scale I was surprised about the cockpit detail. Reference pictures showed that the instruments are very accurate.

The overall fit was indeed very good, but I had some problems with the fit of the engine cowlings. I filled and sanded them and then tried to rescribe the panel line of the cowling but this didn't gave the wished result. It's also a pity that the instructions almost don't give any colors to use for the interior and small pieces, and sometimes the colors aren't even correct. Searching for reference is a must.

All paints I used are from Gunze Sangyo and the camo is airbrushed out of the free hand. For the leading edge of the rotors I used Alclad II.
The exhaust stains where painted with Smoke grey and Tire black. The decals are good quality but very thick, even with several layers of the excellent Daco decal setting 'strong' the decals didn't totally go into the panellines. I finished the model with the Promodellers 'Dark dirt' wash.
I am 17 years old and have built scale models for two years now and I personally think this is my best one till now.
