1/48 Hasegawa F-104C Starfighter
Snoopy Sniper
In 1965 the first squadron F-104C
the Air Forces of the USA has been developed in Da Nang and used for drawing of
blows on the purposes in Southern and Northern Vietnam, having had by
considerable losses, has been withdrawn back on base in the USA. From the middle
of 1966 till July, 1967 one more division F-104C has been directed to South East
Asia and applied to performance of shock problems, has not been replaced yet by
more effective planes F-4D.
Really, becoming one of the most
"useless" planes of the Vietnamese war and being never applied on the
direct appointment, Vietnamese Starfighters were applied basically to cover of
transport aircraft and direct support of land armies, it was never noted in air
fights with planes DRV, one Starfighter the truth has been brought down during
incident with Chinese Мig-17, but the American side denied this
fact. Nevertheless, for a time it there was an outstanding jet, with not less
outstanding characteristics.

Model
It not the first Starfighter which I collected, to it knew, that I am am expected by rest from the basic projects and very effective model on an exit, especially Dmitry Smolin аka SDA, has shared with me one of variants on Vietnamese Starfighters with noseart.
I managed a variant on F-104C b/n 0-60914 "Snoopy Sniper" the pilot major Herb Drisco, the plane was a part 435 TFS and flied with this ornament on a nose to the period with 66 for 67 year
The model is very simple in
assemblage and will not cause complexities at modeller any level. The model
demands a little aftermarket and gathers "on click".
Assembly of the model, has passed at me for some days, from aftermarket the
set of etching from Eduard (a cabin and a nozzle) was used, so the folding part
of a lantern and a nasal part have been finished (is made the self-made case of
the aerial by which some were finished F-104C LO.
Colouring was spent with use
water-soluble Akan which once again perfectly has shown itself - fine colours
and excellent reserve allows me to recommend this set to all wishing to
reproduce the Asian camouflage of the Air Forces of the USA. The camouflage
was painted by means of plasticine Blu-Tack, shaded as usual a water colour, has then
sealed all
this Future and has resulted in a definitive kind, a thin layer of a
semimatte varnish
All work on my model took about
one week and delivered a weight of pleasure.
